How long have you worked at Lisk and what is your current role?
I worked at Lisk for 6 years and my current role is Value Stream supervisor.
What has your experience been as a member of the Lisk team?
My experience since I’ve been a member of the Lisk team has been remarkable. When I started here 6 years ago I had absolutely no experience in manufacturing and no clue what I wanted to do for a career. They gave me a chance I needed. I started off as an assembly operator for the first two years learning as much as I could in the area I was in, when I wanted to do something else in another department they gave me the opportunity where I was winding and learning to program winding machines for another two years. I continued to grow and found myself leading projects, training co-workers and helping in any way I could. That is when I found myself wanting to be in a leadership role so I could inspire others and become an important part of the business which leads to my current role I’ve been in now for a year.
I have grown significantly since I’ve started 6 years ago as an employee and a person. I can honestly say I love my job and without Lisk giving me the chance I wouldn’t be where I am today. I learn something new every day and my favorite part of my job is leading our teams to success. My story is important because I am a girl who graduated high school and didn’t exactly know where I was going in life with no degree expecting I couldn’t do much too now being a supervisor of an amazing team.
Who have been some of your biggest inspirations within the company?
My biggest inspiration within the company is our VP of operations Scott Cummings. The way he started his career by whipping weeds and painting floors to becoming the VP of operations is something you would never realize someone could do until you hear his story.
What is your favorite memory at Lisk?
My favorite memory at Lisk is recently when we had an earth day celebration by planting trees with my husband and daughter knowing I’ll be able to look at that tree 20 years from now and see the growth and be able to think where we were then and where we are now.
What do you enjoy most about working at Lisk?
What I enjoy most about working at Lisk is the environment, this company has always had a family feel to it and being able to connect to co-workers and feel important is why I wake up every day excited to go to work.
